<p>Everyone who wears glasses will understand this point. Dirty spectacles are annoying and have to be cleaned instantly. This is also true of a car&#8217;s windshield.</p>
<p>However, glass has some other uses besides being a lens. Glass is used to allow natural light to enter; stained glass is used to paint a picture; toughened glass is used for table tops and glass is used to make ornaments and drinking vessels.</p>
<p>The thing is though that because glass always has some type of interaction with light, we like to see it clean and it annoys us when we see dirty glass. Dirty glass is a sign of neglect, a sad sign that no-one cares about it.</p>
<p>So, a relevant question is: how do you clean glass? We probably all think that we know the answer to this question and we probably all can and do clean glass, but which are the best ways to clean glass?</p>
<p>There are dozens of spays and chemical solutions on the market and you almost certainly have your specific favourite under the sink right now, but there are also traditional mixes that can be manufactured from ingredients found in most well-stocked kitchens.</p>
<p>However, before moving on to the liquid to use, we will talk about the equipment for applying the cleaner. We will talk about windows as they are by far the biggest glass objects that most people have to clean.</p>
<p>Mix your solution in a bucket and then transfer it to a spray bottle, if you like. One note on safety here: never take a bucket up a ladder, it can tip you over. Some people prefer to spray the liquid cleaner on and then scrape it off with a squeegee &#8211; a rubber blade like a car&#8217;s windshield wipers, others have a preference for more traditional techniques.</p>
<p>Before the squeegee, all professional window cleaners, myself included, used a square of scrim, which is like sacking. I used a square of scrim which was about 18 inches square, but the size you use should make a comfortable ball in your hand. I used this to apply the solution, and I used a large cotton rag to wipe it off. This is an excellent combination which creates excellent results.</p>
<p>Other people swear by newspaper, but I have never seen a professional doing his rounds with a bundle of newspapers. Having said that, my wife and our neighbours all use newspapers to clean the windows and the results are equally as decent.</p>
<p>There are certain weather conditions that you should avoid when planning cleaning windows and they are rain and hot, direct sunlight. You can still clean windows in the rain, after all you will still be removing the grime, but people do not like it. They seem to think that you have &#8216;got away with something&#8217;, somehow done less of a job and to be honest, it is harder to tell, if you have done a good job and drying off is just about impossible.</p>
<p>In hot direct sunlight, the liquid will dry off too rapidly, so in effect you are merely moving the dirt around and hoping that most of it will stick to the scrim. Therefore, the morning and the evening are the best times to clean glass.</p>
<p>We used to use a dash of plain washing up liquid and a cup of methylated spirits in a bucket of water to clean windows and it worked a very well for all the windows or two or three houses before it needed changing, but other people have different tips, some of which I have listed below.</p>
<p>Vinegar and water mixed at a ratio of 4:1 and rubbed on with newspaper. Dry off with newspaper too.</p>
<p>Ammonia, washing-up liquid and water applied with newspaper (wear rubber gloves).</p>
<p>Equal parts of methylated spirits, paraffin oil and water applied and dried off with cloths.</p>

Write down the dimensions of your room or better still make a little plan of it to scale. Take this around the shops and malls and try to listen to a few set-ups in a room similar to your own. This could be difficult, but you might be fortunate.</p>
<p>Work out whether you need a 3.1; 4.1; 5.1; 6.1 or even 7.1 set of compatible surround sound speakers. Basically, it all depends on the size of your room, but the shop assistant will be able to demonstrate and advise you. As a guideline, a 5.1 surround sound set will be adequate for most rooms. The figures stand for normal speakers and sub-woofers: ie 5.1 means five normal speakers and one sub-woofer.</p>
<p>The arrangement of the speakers depends on the size and shape of the room and on your personal preference, but the standard layout would be: one speaker the far left and far right of the screen and one beneath it with two more speakers a little apart from each other at the rear of the audience. The sub-woofer can go at the front or the rear.</p>

If you want a lifestyle free of yard work, roof repairs, pool maintenance or shoveling snow, condo living is for you. It you are looking for social opportunities, pay attention to the demographics. You will want a good fit.</p>
<p>Wild parties, noise of all types and drunken revelry will in all likelihood not be tolerated. This is a positive, depending on your lifestyle. Most people want peace and quiet in their home environment. Also consider the walls. If they are paper thin, you will hear your neighbors and they will hear you. Get &#8220;out-of-line&#8221; by following my advice.  And you definitely want to avoid a<a title="Marietta Foreclosures" href="http://realestatemarietta.com/foreclosure/"> foreclosure</a>!</p>
<p>In the current Loan Modification Frenzy, the &#8220;line&#8221; is too long. Hundreds of thousands are in the queue ahead of you with more than 50,000 added per week. The banks can&#8217;t staff and train and manage and retain nearly enough workers and the systems and procedures are overwhelmed as well. Add to that the fact that the banks are only begrudgingly cooperating with the effort &#8211; and you have a formula for frustration and failure.</p>
<p>Only 4% of us, at the front of the line are getting good modifications. so, let&#8217;s continue to figure-out just what they are doing and copy it! In several recent articles I&#8217;ve described the way the winners construct their applications and follow-up on their files to leverage &#8220;File Inertia&#8221;. Let me now describe how they escalate problems when they occur.</p>
<p>Because problems are an inevitable part of such a convoluted and broken process, effectively dealing with them is critical. I advise you to 1) Ask 5 Times, 2) Escalate Well and 3) Escalate Well Beyond.</p>
<p>Ask 5 Times &#8211; Handling common problems is easy. If they misplaced your 4506-T Form, send them another one. If they want 3 months of bank statements instead of the 2 their forms state send it in. What I mean by Ask 5 Times is, when you get information from the agent that is just wrong, and you can&#8217;t seem to get them to perceive it I call back and try another agent, 5 times. That&#8217;s right, it&#8217;s not worth it to try to prove your point and sometimes the agent is just not savvy enough or trained well enough to understand your question or concern. If I can&#8217;t get 5 agents to give me the &#8220;right&#8221; answer, then I ESCALATE.</p>
<p>Escalation means going up the chain of command. It means requesting that a manager or supervisor review the situation with you. Be sure to do this politely to minimize the snub to the agent but be firm. Simply say (to the 5th agent) &#8220;Please connect me to your supervisor, will you? This matter is just too important to me to let this go. I want to hear it from a supervisor&#8221;. Sometimes the agent will oblige and other times the agent will argue with you. I believe that sometimes too, agents will ask their co-worker to pose as a manager for the call. It may happen that the manager will have to call you back. Don&#8217;t hold your breath. Occasionally you will get lucky and a well trained and well informed manager will get on the line and provide some real value.</p>
<p>Escalate Well Beyond means taking your problem beyond the Loss Mitigation Department to seek assistance and support from other departments, or from bank executives, regulatory agencies, politicians, trade associations and even the press. Don&#8217;t think that your situation is too small for any of these entities to care about or to take action on. The secret to getting their support is to request it in a manner that indicates that you 1) have used all the correct channels already, 2) understand their role and have appropriate expectations for what they can do on your behalf, 3) know exactly what you want them to do and by when and 4) that you are the sort of person who will escalate right past them if they do not respond.</p>
<p>Escalations Well Beyond are effective. I&#8217;m amazed at the results. It seems that such interventions are always successful and the trick is in convincing the person to get involved.</p>
<p>We&#8217;re all in this together (well, many of us are at least). And getting help is often just a case of knowing who to ask and what to ask for. Most people are genuinely sympathetic to those of us caught in the housing crisis. After all, it&#8217;s nearly most of us.</p>
